Dear Mr.Kimata

" Friendship and Life Inside the Record Productions "

Although I have made many recordings as a side man, I would like to give credit and to thank my friend here in Japan, Makoto Kimata for giving me the opportunity to co-produce, perform and to lead on many sessions. Kimata has been in the recording business for many years and we met about 10 years ago when he was managing at Alfa records Japan.

Shortly after we met Kimata called to tell me that he was going to start his own business and asked me to help him by developing the west coast USA and to use my experience to get well known artist to record for his company. I agreed and we began our first project we Kenny Burrell called it Aranjuez, Kenny Burrell and Stan Gilbert quartet.

He went on to develop a working relationship with many of the record companies and to date I have co-produced 15 recordings 3 Swing Journal gold seal of approval awards, (gold Disks). We are planning several projects for later as we continue to flood the market with wounderful sounds of the great artist of the West Coast and the world.

" Fifteen years "

Fifteen years of doing anything right is an accomplishment in itself. Eleven years of operating a Jazz and Bossa Nova club is a kind of miracle. There were times that we felt that it would be impossible to continue, but somehow we were able to get pass those difficulties.

I feel partly responsible for the clubs ability to survive the difficult times, but my contribution has mostly been artistic. The real credit for the successful day-to-day operation of the club definitely belongs to you Kei.

I also want to take this writing opportunity to thank you for working together with me to bring the best local and international talent to perform at the club, and around Japan, and for making it possible for me to meet so many wonderful people.

I also want to remind you Kei that because of the many personal sacrifice, the deferment of material and financial gains, that the GOLD is just around the corner.

Congratulations Kei Ishida and keep up the good work.
